Barbara’s proficiency in insurance policies, services, and business management propelled her through the ranks of co-owner of the Minard Insurance Company in 2003, and co-owner of the Van Doren-Hamlow Insurance Company in 2008, when the latter partner retired. Using their initials, Barb paid homage to the previous owners by renaming the company to the modern-day MVH Insurance Agency.

Family leads the way in Barbara’s life away from work. She lives in Yuba City, California with her husband John, who retired from the United States Air Force after 38 years of service and enjoys spending time with her three adult children including Taji, who is a partner at MVH, Joseph, Kristin, and their beautiful grandchildren. 

An avid traveler, reader, and proud patriotic supporter, Barb volunteers alongside John who is a founding member of the non-profit veteran-led organization Patriots Honor, where they actively raise money for wounded veterans who are returning home from service.

Susi Jacobo-Vice joined MVH Insurance in 2002 as a Customer Service Representative, quickly becoming a licensed Property and Casualty Agent in 2003, and a partner at MVH in 2008, where she focuses on personal service and unique coverage options that meet our clients’ needs and budgets. Susi is fluent in Spanish, which allows our office to provide exceptional bilingual service and extends our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the community. 

A well-rounded community begins with its residents and their dedication to the greater societal good, and Susi is an absolute reflection of that exuberant spirit’s existence all around. A devoted member in her church and volunteering force in Sacramento, California, Susi dedicates herself to worthy causes while spending time with family and friends who enjoy giving back as much as she does.

Taji (pronounced, Tashi) Sperber began her insurance career in 1991, licensed in Property and Casualty, and maintained a position with MVH for several years before switching gears and expanding her versatility through exciting career opportunities while operating a household with young children. In 2008, she became licensed in Accident and Health insurance, and co-owner of MVH Insurance, joining her Mother, Barbara, and Susi as agent-owners. Providing quality customer service and steadfastly devoted to the personal needs of each client, Taji and the team expanded their coverage solutions to include Life Insurance through her attained 2016 license, extending their focus on providing personal, resourceful, and committed care to existing and new clients in the MVH family. 

Devoted Wife and Mom; Proud Committee Member and Supporter 

With three children, ranging from college to elementary school ages, Taji and her husband Eric are active in juggling schoolwork, extra-curricular activities, and the ongoing needs of their busy household with precision and excitement. Social gatherings with family and friends are highlights to a balancing act that includes being a proud current member of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce, Past-Secretary of the Business Executives Referral Group, and positions on the Elk Grove Chamber Marketing Committee and Business Referral Group Committee.

Taji is currently active in Girl Scouts with her youngest daughter and a PTA member, heading up the See’s Candy fundraiser for her daughter’s elementary school each year.

Marissa Snyker joined the MVH Insurance team in 2011, bringing nearly two decades of exceptional insurance experience to the Agency. Her multi-faceted skillset allows Marissa to take the lead in creating customer service, communication, and claims solutions for our family of clients while maintaining her lauded position as office event coordinator and marketing maven. Marissa speaks Spanish fluently, and expands our consistently growing approach to enhancing our brand through communication outlets that include social media, internal and external marketing initiatives, and community involvement. Her wit, humor and constant care allows MVH to stand apart from other insurance agencies, as she embodies the Agency’s personal approach to providing dedicated solutions for all. 

Away from MVH Insurance: 

Family, Ministries, and Friends. Marissa is the very proud mother of two successful adult children, Vanessa and Alexander. For nearly 30 years she has provided counseling assistance and motivational public speaking through her church that empowers women and teens with confidence and self-sufficiency to lead by example and successfully grow within the community. As the Organizer of the Frugal Fashionista Fellowship, Marissa has impacted countless lives throughout the community by connecting women of all ages, backgrounds, and needs, to share and learn from each other’s life experiences through the common cultural connection of home décor and fashionable fun. When Marissa isn’t helping others through her devotion to ministry, she is entertaining family and friends through her passion for cooking, bringing out the inner foodie in everyone.
